three times the fun!

My good friend, Kim, hosted a 3/$5 card making workshop at her house on Thursday. I wanted to hold an event in February, but since our house is currently in the "packing" stages, she stepped up and said she'd be happy to have it at her house! We had an AWESOME turn out of 13 stampers with quite a few new ladies to Stampin' Up! It was super fun and Kim provided some really yummy appetizers. Thanks, Kim, for opening your home to everyone!

The first two cards, my upline, Andrea shared with me and I just had to make them and let others create them, too! The first one would be the perfect masculine card (I don't make a lot of those) and the next one is a perfect card for a kid's birthday.

This card uses the Four Square stamp set and Sweet Pea designer series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. It also uses the coordinating scalloped square punch, Taken with Teal CS, So Saffron CS, and Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

This card uses Bugs & Kisses...the cutest little stamp set! It is actually Kim's, but I borrowed it to use for her workshop. This card uses colors from the Bold Brights family, including Only Orange, Green Galore, and Tempting Turquoise.

This last card uses the Simply Said stamp set and I incorporated the Sale-A-Bration edge punch, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini and Certainly Celery designer series paper. We used Dazzling Diamonds glitter for the flowered image and you should see it sparkle in real life!
I'm happy to answer any questions about any cards that I post...feel free to leave a comment if you have one!

Love is in the Air!

I haven't been doing too much stamping lately...is it obvious?

For a good 2 full months, Stampin' Up! was put on the back burner. I wanted to enjoy the holidays and not stress about holding events and then January came and went in a blink of an eye! Near the end of January, one of my friends e-mailed me wanting to do a Valentine's 3/$5 card making workshop and I jumped at the chance since I hadn't done anything for so long and was ready to get back into it. We only had a week to prepare, but we had so much fun...especially since most of her friends are my friends and then it made for a fun girls' night out!

Below are the three projects I created for this Valentine's event:

This card uses the Love You Much stamp set along with Sending Love Designer Series Paper found in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. It also uses a new punch that I earned FREE through Sale-A-Bration that is going on NOW! (More to come about that later.) As I told the girls at the workshop, this is an HB Original..meaning I came up with the design myself (not always the case).

This next card uses a combination of the Love You Much set mentioned above and the new I {Heart} Hearts found in the Occasions Mini. I "borrowed" this idea from a friend. Each of the hearts is embossed in white and easily punched out with the Heart to Heart punch. It also uses Sending Love DSP and the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die for the Big Shot. This one took the longest, but I love it!

This last project, I'm not ashamed to admit I took it right out of Stampin' Success, a magazine just for SU! demonstrators. Of course I tweaked a few things here and there to make it "my own". It uses the set Whooo's Your Valentine? Super cute and super fun! It would make great little valentines for classmates...although it would get ripped to shreds pretty quickly, wouldn't it? Maybe all that time wouldn't be worth it? *wink*

Lastly, we are going to be making a card at our next MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting and this is what all the moms will be making. I've measured, cut, stamped, and punched so everything is ready to assemble come this Monday morning.
